Milliken Proves to be Too Much for Turner

Pedro Anderson scored a team-high eight points, but it wasn’t enough as Turner Middle School dropped a 43-31 decision at home to Milliken on Tuesday afternoon in eighth-grade varsity basketball action.
John Feil and Axel Ayala added five points each. Feil, Ayala and Quinton Urchek each hit 3-pointers in the defeat.
In eighth-grade junior varsity action, Milliken won 38-32.
Turner’s seventh-grade varsity team lost 22-17 to Milliken despite six points from Ryan Vasquez and four from Nate Ryken. Zack Bracken and Jackson Lussier helped keep Turner in the game.
The seventh-grade JV team scored a decisive 23-2 win.
Appelmann, Spears Lead Premier Gymnasts at Halloween Meet

FORT COLLINS – Addison Spears of Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies took second place in the child’s 6-and-7 age group in the Level 4 all-around at the Halloween Invite at GK’s Gymnastics on Nov. 1 and 2.
The Level 4 team took third in the team competition. The Level 6 squad took second, while the Level 5 team finished in fifth.
Besides Spears’ finish in the all-around, she also took second on the vault and balance beam and fourth on the floor exercise. Katie Eggerling placed second on the beam and Tatum Graham placed third on the vault in Level 4.
Other top finishers include Emma Appelmann (Level 6, 1st, beam), Katherine Bosnich (Level 6, 2nd, beam) and Jose Spitz (Level 6, 4th, vault and 5th bars).
Berthoud Recreation Registering for Winter Season

Berthoud Recreation is registering for the winter session of adult volleyball.
Co-ed and women’s teams are being formed. The deadline for registration is Nov. 21.
Sign-up for little dribblers — for grades kindergarten through second grade — and youth basketball — for grades third through fifth — will be held from Dec. 1 through 25. Cost is $45 for residents and $55 for non-residents.

Annual Loveland Turkey Trot Scheduled

LOVELAND – The seventh-annual Loveland Turkey Trot will take place Thanksgiving morning, beginning at 8 a.m. with the free Kids’ Gobbler Trek.
The 5K race, which begins at 8 a.m., will start on Hoffman Drive just north of McKee Medical Center. It will proceed north to 37th St. to the bike path at Boyd Lake before turning south and heading back to 18th St. where it will finish up at McKee.
Registration is ongoing. Race fee is $23 for adults and $13 for kids 12-and-under for the 5k through Nov. 26. After that, race fee is $30 for adults; $15 for kids. Team registration for three or more is $20 before Nov. 26 and $30 after.
