They seem so simple-minded, but you have to look beyond their 3500 or so feathers to find the real “meat.” Ben Franklin apparently had enough respect for them that he thought they’d make a better national bird than the bald eagle. Broadway Bound Dance Academy's annual 'Holiday Traditions Show' will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Come enjoy refreshments and holiday dances. Wednesday, Nov. 5 On an otherwise quiet day the Berthoud Police made eight traffic stops Thursday, Nov. 6 Police were asked to assist in finding the owner of a truck that had apparently been stolen and was found in Adams County. A few hours later the owner called saying he had responded to a call from Adams County, but they had no record of his truck. Dam Project Receives Award
URS Corporation has received a 2009 Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado for its work on an outlet addition to the Carter Lake Dam. The new outlet was needed to accommodate the growing use of the water resource, which is part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District. (more...)
Elks to Send Holiday Packages to Troops
By Lizzy Scully Berthoud Recorder This past July, the Berthoud Recorder wrote a story on the Loveland Elks’ support of an Iraqi burn clinic run by the 82nd Airborne Division. When the 82nd Airborne returned to the United States, the burn clinic was turned over to the Iraqis, and according to Troop Support Committee member Larry Reisdorff, supplies the Elks have sent have since not reached their destination. “We lost all of our contacts with them,” he explained. “I just got a box back ... The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Veteran Employment Programs is hosting the second annual Northern Colorado Veterans STAND-DOWN, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Catholic Charities-The Mission, 460 Linden Center Drive, Fort Collins.
