Amy Ekart scored a game-high 23 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Berthoud’s girls’ basketball team opened its 2008-09 season with a 60-42 home win over Greeley West.

Sara Loberg added 11 points and Rose Heaphy pulled down seven rebounds for the Spartans.

Danielle Wikre and Julia Perry added six rebounds apiece for Berthoud.
