DENVER –– Josh Elbaum tied the score with his third goal of the game with 34 seconds left in regulation and James Merrimand’s second goal won it in overtime as the Colorado Lightning topped the Denver Dynamite, 10-9, on Saturday night at the Denver Sports Center.

Elbaum finished with a game-high four goals.

The win was the third straight for the Lightning (3-2), who also got goals from Zach Cousins, Ryan Slaughter, Clayton Zelin and Doug Brannan.

“We came out strong tonight and got the lead,” said Merrimand, who was making his Lightning debut. “We sat back at halftime, but we came back and it paid off.”
