High winds rocked the Berthoud area on Tuesday. Mountain Avenue east of the railroad tracks experienced a power outage lasting several hours, and customers of Internet service provider Skybeam were without connection after the tower atop Berthoud’s grain elevator blew over. A spokesperson for Skybeam said the company waited until the einds died down to safely attempt a repair. The Chinooks, or snow-eaters, dissipated by Tuesday afternoon, temperatures are expected to remain mild until the weekend when snow showers are possible.
