Sports Briefs: Youth Basketball Camp Dates Set

Youth basketball camp set for Jan. 6 – 8

Berthoud Recreation will be hosting a basketball camp, specializing in ball handling, Jan. 6 through 8 at Berthoud Elementary School.

The camp, which will run from 4 to 6 p.m. daily, is open to ages 8 through 12. Cost for the camp is $75. Space is limited.

Windsor rec league looking for basketball players

Registration is being accepted for boys’ basketball teams participating in the winter league at the Windsor Recreation Center.

Players in fifth through eighth grades will play a 12-game league schedule beginning Jan. 11. All games are played at the Windsor Recreation Center.

Ice indoor football team to hold open tryouts

FORT COLLINS –– The Colorado Ice indoor football team will hold an open tryout on Jan. 25 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at OD’s Sports Crossing.

Registration fee is $45 for pre-registration and $55 the day of the tryout. Cash will only be accepted the day of the tryout. Pre-registration deadline is Jan. 16 by 5 p.m.

All tryouts will be on held on field turf. No metal spikes or metal-tipped cleats are allowed. For more information, call (970) 472-0128.

The Ice open their 2009 regular season on March 28 at Loveland’s Budweiser Events Center against the Billings Outlaws.

 

Tickets available for CSU-CU hockey game

LOVELAND –– Tickets are on sale now for the Rocky Mountain Face-Off –– Colorado State vs. Colorado hockey game at the Budweiser Events Center on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $7 to $20. Additional ticket service charges apply. Group sales are available for the event.

Proceeds will go to youth hockey in Northern Colorado. For more information, call the BEC at (970) 619-4100.
