Turnovers, Miscues Hurt Lady Spartans' Chances

By Taylor Lee Berthoud Recorder The Berthoud Lady Spartans girls’ basketball team lost 60-35 to Fossil Ridge at home Tuesday night. The loss dropped Berthoud to 4-6 overall, 3-4 in the 4A Northern Conference. “We keep pulling ourselves out of the game,” said junior Amy Ekart. “We just got to focus and have fewer turnovers. Spartans' Comeback Comes up Short in 60-50 Loss

Grass Fire South of Berthoud Burns 12 Acres

Photos and text by Shari Phiel Berthoud Recorder The Berthoud Fire Protection District received a call about this grass fire southwest of Berthoud just after 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19.  Fire crews from Longmont, Hygiene and Mountain View fire departments joined Berthoud crews in battling the flames west of U.S. Highway 287 and had the fire out within a couple of hours. Reeder, Eagles shine in 8-4 All-Star Game victory

By Michael Hicks Berthoud Recorder LOVELAND -- Konrad Reeder’s third goal of the game sparked a third-period onslaught as the Colorado Eagles posted an 8-4 victory over the Central Hockey League’s All-Stars on Wednesday night at the Budweiser Events Center.
