I had planned to don my snowshoes, but my chosen destination—Caribou Ranch Open Space—had snow-packed trails and patches of open ground, so I wore my winter hiking boots instead. Fire Beat: Jan 1, 2009

Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 BFPD assisted with a medical call for transport from the Berthoud Living Center. The crew assisted with transporting the patient. BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-25 at mile marker 252. Both vehicles had minor damage and there were no injured occupants.   Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 BFPD assisted with a medical call for chest pain on Fourth Street. Police Beat: Jan 1, 2009

Monday, Dec. 22 Someone picked up a loose Golden Retriever type dog at Third St. and Mountain Ave. and called police. The report does not indicate that the owner was located, but it does say that a citation was issued. Police received a call about the welfare of a dog on the porch of a second floor apartment in the 900 block of Seventh St. Police found a second house nearby that also had a dog without shelter.
