There is no point in Doug Nichols and I writing letters back and forth over the subject of Evolution/Creation. Mr. Nichols was thoroughly “educated” by those who put their faith in evolution and rather present any fact(s) or proof of evolution, just cites unproven beliefs of fellow evolutionists.
The fossil record and creation itself with all its beauty, laws, and immense complexity attest to wisdom, design, power and purpose. One can interpret all of this in only two ways. First, one can interpret according to God’s Word; In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth (Gen 1:1). That is, God said that He created time, space and matter/energy.
Second, one can interpret the opposite what God said which is, everything just happened by chance and without intelligence or purpose. Evolutionists say creation is not science but religion (faith in God). Actually, evolution is not science either but faith (religion) in some kind of “nature god(s).” The reason both are “faith based” is because neither can be scientifically proven because all of creation happened in the non-observable past.
For a moment, consider some basic laws of science. The first law of thermodynamics states that (overall) mass and energy is neither being created nor destroyed (but conserved). The second law of thermodynamics (the law of entropy), states that the usefulness of energy (in a closed system) tends to deteriorate, or become less useful and less available over time.
This law also says that order tends towards disorder. A third law is one I will repeat from my first letter, that life can only come from life. The significance of stating these laws of science is that the Bible is in harmony with them; after all, if God created, He created the laws as well. On the other hand, evolution is absolutely contrary to these laws of science. The obvious conclusion to draw from this is that since evolution is contrary to fundamental natural laws, that is why they cannot produce proof or facts to back up their claims. Theirs is a false science.
God said that He created (everything) in six days and then rested… and that He sustains everything by His Word. Evolutionists have no answer to where mass and energy came from, how life began, or where information (such as DNA) came from. They just present illogical arguments that are completely opposite to God’s Word. But isn’t it logical to understand that God chose to use DNA and RNA and the like as His building blocks for all living things.
I, too, like Mr. Nichols was taught evolution exclusively in school and even in the work place. However, I had an open mind so that when I was exposed to creation science arguments, I weighed the two views. Now, everything I see and study about the universe and everything in it make sense when I consider it according to God’s Word. And it seems so foolish to think that it just happened against the natural laws and plain common sense.
Mr. Nichols cited some of his fellow evolutionist believers’ works and Web sites. That was a good idea. Let me end by stating that there are plenty of scientists of all persuasions who believe in creation that the public may not be aware of. You will be amazed at what you will find by visiting these creation Web sites. Consider some of the many enlightening books and DVDs available on creation science. Then, make up or reinforce your own mind, what you will believe in.
