The Haworth's Hub: Century-Old Barn Has Served as

William, born in England in 1817, came to America with his father in 1824, after his mother’s death. They settled in western Pennsylvania, where he grew to manhood, married, and had seven children. Rare Find: Mink

Ken Locke of Berthoud examines what he believes is a dead mink he discovered near the west edge of Highway 287. Locke said he worked at a mink farm in Connecticut when he was a teenager and felt pretty confident in his identification. At 23 inches long and three pounds, the animal fits the size description listed on the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) for an adult male mink. Elizabeth Katherine “Betty” Rose, 82, of Berthoud passed away quietly at her home on Friday, March 13, 2009. Survivors include her husband, Russell F. Rose, Jr. of Berthoud; daughters, Kathy Athens of Littleton, and Paula Madok and husband, George, of Evergreen; and four grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Athens, and James and Caroline Madok. Obituary: Robert Douglas Ramsay

Robert “Bob” Douglas Ramsay Robert “Bob” Douglas Ramsay, 73, of Longmont died at his residence on March 10, 2009.  Bob was a teacher in the Adams District 50 before his retirement. He also resided in Berthoud and Arvada.  No services are scheduled. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services of Longmont.

Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for March 9-15 Tuesday, March 10, 2009 BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. There were no injuries. BFPD was called to a single-vehicle rollover accident on WCR 8E. Upon arrival, the vehicle was found lying on its top. There were no injuries. Police Beat: March 19, 2009

Tuesday, March 10 A single car accident on Highway 56 near Pyramid Peak Ave. caused no injuries to the young driver. The 18-year-old Berthoud driver stepped on the brakes when he saw the 45 mph sign east of Town and began to slide on the snow-covered roadway. The sliding was stopped by a Qwest power pole. The pole was leaning but still standing after the collision, but the car was damaged enough that it had to be towed. Police issued a summons to the owners of a six-month-old St. Bernard puppy ...
