Leading Edge Flight School hosted an open house at the Fort Collins Loveland Municipal Airport on Saturday, March 28. There were a half-dozen planes on display and a fly-in.
<p>Markus Selken, 4, and his dad, Tom, of Fort Collins take a turn with the Katana Diamond D4, which was among six airplanes on display at the Leading Edge Flight School open house at the Fort Collins Loveland Municipal Airport Saturday, March 28. Waiting for his chance to sit in the cockpit is Shayne Griego, 18, center, who is a senior at Mountain View High School as part of Project Lead the Way and an introduction to engineering class that attended the event. Griego said, “I definitely want to learn to fly.”</p>
<p>William Wellborn, 2, gets to feel what it’s like behind the wheel of a Diamond D4. His father, Matt Wellborn of Windsor, completed more than 80 hours of training to get his pilot’s certificate in November through Leading Edge Flight School, which sponsored the open house.</p>
<p>One of the highlights of the open house was a fly-in.</p>
<p>Dozens of people came to check out the planes and a collection of Porsches that were also on hand for exploration.</p>
