The Board of Larimer County Commissioners today appointed Chad Washburn of Fort Collins to serve as the county surveyor. Washburn will fill the seat left vacant by current Commissioner Tom Donnelly who resigned last January before beginning his term as county commissioner. Washburn will finish out the four-year term ending January 2011.
Washburn is a professional land surveyor with JR Engineering. In his application he said he feels lucky to be working in a profession he loves in a place he loves, so giving back to both is an honor. The county surveyor receives a legislated salary of $5,500 and is responsible for representing the county in boundary disputes.
