Open Your Horizons to Belly Dancing

By Megan Reece Berthoud Recorder The key to starting a new exercise program is to find an activity or two that you really enjoy. The more fun you are having, the more likely you are to keep going back. Everyone is a little bit different, but if you are still wracking your brain to find something fun and different, consider belly-dancing. I recently tried belly dancing for the first time. I joined Janet Schreiner’s class at the Chilson Recreation Center in Loveland. Schreiner also teaches ... Full Story

A quirky family struggles to make ends meet and two sisters — Rose and Norah Lorkowski (Adams ... Full Story

Let’s just say my suggestion was not well received. Who knew my mother knew those kinds of words. I still thought it was a good idea. After all, mobility scooters are relatively affordable and easy to use solution for seniors having ... Full Story

Whirlwind Weekends in Store

By Gary Wamsley Berthoud Recorder It’s time for celebration — I got my braces off this week. The dentist’s staff makes quite a big deal about it. They all gathered around me with bells and maracas and sang the “You’re getting your braces off” song. We had a good laugh, and soon the metal was gone, replaced by a plastic retainer to hold the shape. As soon as I have time we are on to the next step. (more…)

County Fails to Protect Residents The Larimer County Commissioners' decision to allow Graycor Blasting to continue to operate their industrial business in a residential area is just another in their long line of failures to protect the interests of Larimer County residents. Graycor is a privately owned, international construction services company. It had $672 million in sales in 2007. There is no earthly reason this company should locate its industrial operations in a residential area. When ... Full Story
