CHSAA Makes Right Call Not to Cut Seasons

By Michael Hicks Berthoud Recorder I can’t help but to wonder what Dan McGinn would’ve thought if his Berthoud varsity football team were forced to play one less game. Or how about baseball coach Dustin Kennard losing two games as he tries to rebuild the school’s program. Shoot, for that matter, what if all Berthoud coaches were faced with a mandatory 10 percent cut in the number of games they played. Ice's Offense, Special Teams Heat up in First Win

By Michael Hicks Berthoud Recorder LOVELAND — If nothing else, the Colorado Ice learned in their first two games this season just how bitter a pill losing is. Both times the team was driving for the eventual game-winning score only to throw an interception and lose by a combined six points. On Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center, Josh Gibson made sure Colorado didn’t suffer a similar fate. Sports Briefs: Eagles, RiverKings Continue Playoff

Game 2 of the Colorado Eagles’ Central Hockey League Northern Conference playoff series with the Mississippi RiverKings will be Friday at 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center. Game 1 of the series Wednesday night wasn’t completed by press time. After three games in Mississippi the series, if necessary, would return to Colorado for Game 6 on April 26 followed by a winner-take-all Game 7 on April 27.
