Public meetings on the proposed 1041 designation of water and sewer transmission pipelines are scheduled for Thursday, May 21 and Thursday, June 4, each meeting from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Carter Lake Meeting Room, 200 W. Oak St., Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building, Fort Collins.

State statutes allow local governments to designate certain activities of state interest and require permits for development involving these activities. The following designation is proposed: Sitting and development of new or extended domestic water or sewer transmission lines which use 24-inch diameter or larger pipelines or two or more pipelines of any size which are parallel to and located within 100 feet of one another and have a total diameter equal to or greater than 24 inches.

The Planning Department is seeking comments on the proposed designation of water and sewer transmission lines from local service providers and other interested parties.
