U.S. Healthcare Costs: What Solutions Reflect American Values?

Dr. Bernard Birnbaum presents “Why Does U.S. Health Care Cost So Much and What Solutions Reflect American Values?” on Tuesday, June 16, 7:30 to 9 p.m., 505 N. Cleveland Ave., Loveland. The movie, “Health, Money and Fear” will also be shown, followed by a discussion.
    
The event is part of the 2009 “Explorations, Visions and our Future” series, sponsored by the Larimer County Democratic Party.
    
Birnbaum is a family physician and faculty member with the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency Program. He completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson Medical College at George Washington University; he is a member of Physicians for a National Health Program and Health Care for All Colorado, and currently serves as a board member of the Health District of Northern Larimer County.
    
Dr. Paul Hochfeld, the writer and producer of the movie “Health, Money and Fear” is a physician certified in emergency medicine, who resides in Oregon. Hochfeld interviews doctors and healthcare providers to get an insider’s look at reasons for the rising costs of health care and offers possible solutions.
    
The event is free and open to the public.
