Obituary: Byron L. Gaede

Byron L. Gaede, 72, of Berthoud passed away at his residence on June 12, 2009. He was born Dec. 25, 1936, in McPherson, Kan., to Ruben H. and Helen Marie (Davis) Gaede. He graduated from high school in 1955 in Little River, Kan., and worked for DJ Fair Lumber in Sterling, Kan. Gaede was also a volunteer fireman. He was always in the lumber business and worked for Foster Lumber, Diamond Lumber and most recently County Line Lumber. He was a member of the Little River Methodist Church and ... Full Story

Planners Focus on Development Code Revisions

Summer Job Scene: The Pool is Cool

Some kids work for restaurants like John Dough’s Pizza or the Jumping Bean while other kids work at the local grocery store — Hays Market. An Evening of Improv

Teens and youth had a good time while developing improvisational skills during a workshop led by Dave Pickard at the Berthoud Library Tuesday evening, June 16. Pickard is offering another improvisation workshop next Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. He has previously performed with Theatre Sport in California and appeared on public access TV as a member of The Underground Improvisation based at Colorado University. Taylor Made: Planning for College

Of course there is always apprehension about upperclassmen and stories about mean teachers, but with time it gets easier. Meyers Excels at Morningside College

Jessica Meyers, daughter of Raymond and Mona Meyers of Berthoud, was named to the Dean’s Honor List at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa for the 2009 spring semester. She achieved a grade point average of 3.67 or better and completed at least 12 credits of coursework above the C level.     Meyers, a sophomore at Morningside, is a past graduate of Berthoud High School. Miss Colorado USA Pageants Coming To Greeley

The 2010 Miss Colorado USA and Miss Colorado Teen USA pageants will take place at the Union Colony Civic Center (UCCC) in Greeley the weekend of Oct. 31 to Nov. 1. The pageants are the official state preliminaries to the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA competitions. (more…)
