Police Beat: June 25, 2009

Friday, June 12 Berthoud Police responded to an early morning silent alarm at a local business on the 500 block of Mountain Avenue and found a burglary in progress. The officer notified dispatch and called the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office for backup, then proceeded after the intruder. When the unidentified male suspect became aware of the officer’s presence he fled the scene running southbound on foot. A chase ensued but the suspect ultimately escaped with approximately $200 in stolen ... Full Story

Fire Beat: June 25, 2009

Tuesday, June 16 BFPD assisted with a walk-in medical call at Station 2 for an 11-year-old who had been bitten by a rattlesnake. Berthoud Fire treated the patient until TVEMS arrived to the scene and the patient care was transferred to them. The patient was transported. Motor Vehicle Licensing Fees Have Gone Up

New legislation became effective June 1 that requires Colorado motor vehicle owners to pay a late fee on delinquent registrations. This late fee is assessed at $25 per month up to a maximum of $100. The late fee applies to: Renewals past the one-month grace period Expired temporary permits New vehicles not registered within 60 days of purchase Vehicles not registered within 90 days of owner becoming a resident in Colorado State law requires that all vehicles be currently registered, whether ... By Taylor Lee Berthoud Recorder LOVELAND — The presence of family was nothing short of a confidence boost for the Colorado Force, especially for Lisa Franke whose family came from Hawaii to watch her play in the team’s Father’s Day matchup against the Los Angeles Legends. The result — a 2-0 win against the Legends on Sunday at Loveland Sports Park.
