Obituary: Beverly Belle Ward

Beverly Belle Ward, 83, of Berthoud, died on July 15, 2009, at the Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. She was born on June 25, 1926, in Mendon, Mo., to Leo E. and Lela Belle (Jackson) Shults. She graduated from high school in Idaho Springs, Colo., in 1944. On Sept. 22, 1945, she married John Walter Ward in Fort Collins. Ward worked as a homemaker and had lived in Berthoud since 1952, moving from Granby, Colo. Around Town: Making Hay

By Gary Wamsley Berthoud Recorder I didn’t get any suggestions on how to repair my lawn mower’s plastic gas tank so I went on the Internet for information on sealants. I found a review of a product that claimed it was not affected by gasoline and I purchased a tube of it. I also used some of my 600 mile-per-hour tape left over from my flying days. Fire Beat: July 16, 2009

Monday, July 6 BFPD responded to an abandoned house on east Colorado Ave. for a reported bonfire/rubbish type fire. The fire was extinguished. Tuesday, July 7 BFPD responded to a grass fire on W County Road 8. This was approximately a 20 by 20 foot light, slow moving fire that was extinguished. Thursday, July 9 BFPD responded to a call on County Road 15 and 6C for a patient who had sustained an accidental gunshot wound. The patient was transported. BFPD responded to a motor vehicle ... Police Beat: July 16, 2009

Tuesday, July 7 Police responded to a call from Larimer County weed control district concerning property near west County Road 8 and Highway 287. There was complaint about weeds in the lot. Code Enforcement is in the process of determining the property’s owner. A female resident in the 200 block of east Nebraska Aveneue received over a dozen mid-morning phone calls with no one on the line.  She could not indentify the number and was referred to the phone company to block nuisance ...
