A tent was stolen from the Realities Cup Charity Golf Tournament at Ptarmigan Country Club’s golf course, hole number 16 between 7 p.m. July 13, and 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 14. The tent, table and chairs are a $1,600 loss to Realities For Children’s Emergency Fund.
Spokesperson for RFC, Holli Millenski notes this is not a cost accrued by the event rental company, FLEXX Productions, or the host location of Ptarmigan Country Club.
“The theft of this tent and supplies, in effect, has been from the abused, neglected and at-risk youth in Larimer County the Realities For Children Emergency Fund serves,” she said in a press release Tuesday.
RFC President Craig Secher also expressed his dismay: “I am troubled and disappointed by this incident. Although it is disheartening that one person’s selfish actions take away from children in need, it should not overshadow all those who gave of themselves at this fundraising effort.”
But, he added, “I am encouraged and faithful that in continuing to work together as a community, we can and will reach further in service for the needs of abused and neglected children locally.”
This theft is a setback to the fundraising efforts of all involved with the Realities Cup and to the foster children and youth served by 16 affiliate youth agencies that the work with RFC year round.
Realities For Children asks that anyone with information on the theft, please call (970) 484-9090 or email Info@RealitiesForChildren.com.
If you were the person involved in the theft, RFC requests the return of the tent to their office, located at 1610 South College Ave. in Fort Collins. No questions asked.
