New Business Opens in Berthoud

Chuck and Mike Zapf, owners of NORCO Construction in Windsor, and NORCO Custom Coating in Berthoud, announce the opening of their newest company, NORCO Insulation. NORCO Insulation will be operated out of their facility at 795 N. Second Street, a location central to the Northern Colorado area the new company will serve. (more…)

Labor Day Closures

Berthoud Town offices, community center, Berthoud Library; Loveland city offices, Senior Center, Loveland library, recycling center and COLT transit (normal schedule resumes Tuesday) are closed. The Chilson Rec Center will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Larimer County offices are closed. Citizen Action Committee Meeting Sept. 29

CITIZENS FIRST is a group of concerned citizens, many of whom attend Town Meetings and serve on Town boards. We have representatives from Planning and Zoning, Tree Board, BERT, BAHA and many other local non-profit groups. (more…)

County Briefs: Larimer Program Offers Free Firewood

Free firewood is available to the public in return for assisting with stacking slash and/or relocating firewood for one hour prior to loading and hauling it away.   Larimer County Department of Natural Resources encourages individuals interested in participating in the 2009 Firewood Collection Program to check our Web site at for start dates. Berthoud Book Club Presents 2009-10 Events

The discussion groups will meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Berthoud Library Conference Room from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. The same book will be discussed at each meeting. (more…)

Suiter Gives Highlights and Hopes at Chamber Luncheon

Residents Oppose Increased Density in Subdivision

By Sandy Barnes Berthoud Recorder Residents protested changes to the original plat in the Cottages at Berthoud Village that would increase the overall density of units in the subdivision, during a public hearing at the Thursday, Aug. 27 planning and zoning commission meeting. Developer Dave Sitzman of the Sitzman Property Management requested changes to the building envelopes in the subdivision, which would permit construction of five more multi-family units in Bein Village than originally ... BHS Math Teacher Welcomes German Exchange Student

By Laurie Hindman Berthoud Recorder Gary and Laurie Brandvold have five grown children, two from Gary’s first marriage and three from Laurie’s first marriage. After ushering the last one out the door to college, they enjoyed a year of “empty nest” before concluding that maybe their Berthoud Lake home was a little too empty. (more…)
