Tour de Fat — Fort Collins
Saturday, Sept. 5 at New Belgium Brewing Co., 500 Linden St., Fort Collins. Thousands of people on bikes will be celebrating the rites of autumn in this unusual mixed bag of events – everything is on tap, from costumed bike parade, to free music and circus performers to excellent food vendors.

Tentative Schedule:
9 a.m. –– Bike Parade Registration
10 a.m. –– Bike Parade
11 a.m. –– Performances Begin
1:30 p.m. –– “Carpocalypse Now” — Funeral procession for the car belonging to the Car-for-Bike Trade volunteer
3:30 p.m. –– Car-for-Bike Trade Celebration
4 p.m. –– Curtain Closes

Communicating Auditions
Longmont Theatre Company will hold auditions for “Communicating Doors,” directed by Jackie Tisinai and produced by Debi Stevenson.

Where: Longmont Theater Rehearsal Space, 314 Main St., Longmont. The entrance is from the rear –– a green door near the south end of the parking lot on Kimbark Avenue.

When: Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment needed, but you must complete the online audition request form at www.LongmontTheatre.org before the audition date. Callbacks, if needed: Sunday, Sept. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m.

What: All roles available. Go to www.LongmontTheatre.org for descriptions. Cold readings from the script. Non-Equity only, no pay, no fee. Bring resume, headshot, and a list of all conflicts for evenings and weekends between Sept. 14 and Nov. 22.

Performance dates: Nov. 6 to 21.

The 20th Annual Friendship Powwow
On Saturday, Sept. 12, Acoma Plaza will be alive with the music and color of the 20th annual Denver Art Museum Friendship Powwow and American Indian Cultural Celebration. The free event will begin at 10 a.m. with Gourd Dancing, followed by the grand entry at noon. Dance contests include categories ranging from tiny tot to adult. Art making on the plaza will include clay activities, animal painting and photo memories. Experience the sights and sounds of living traditions, connect with working artists and artisans, shop vendors for American Indian jewelry and other great items and enjoy your first (or 101st) piece of fry bread! Powwow activities and museum admission are free.
