Crazy about birds or just curious? Join us for a FREE day of fun and learning for the entire family at the fifth annual Northern Colorado Birding Fair at Larimer County’s Fossil Creek Reservoir Regional Open Space on Sept. 26.

Guided bird walks at 7 a.m. and 7:15 a.m., ongoing hands-on activities 8 to 11 a.m., hourly presentations from 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and 11:15 a.m., interactive clinics from 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and noon.

Compete in the Bird Olympics or other birding activities, go on a bird walk and scavenger hunt, or listen to presentations from experts in the field. Presentations include talks on “Birding in Central America” and “Amazing Bird Adaptations.” This year’s in-depth clinics will discuss the latest in optics for birding, and bird feeding throughout the year. No matter what tickles your fancy, birders young and old, beginner to experienced, will find something at this exciting event to fit the bill. Event sponsors will discuss and sell the latest in bird viewing equipment and resource materials.

Did you say free? Entry to this event is free for all. Prizes will be available for children 12 years of age or under who complete their Birding Fair Passports. This year’s silent auction will include a private mountain bike tour of a Larimer County Open Space and the chance to release a raptor back into the wild. There will be food and drink available courtesy of the Larimer County Friend’s Group, and the Berthoud Lions Club.
