The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is pleased to announce that Jim Mertz has been named executive director at Good Samaritan Society — Loveland Village in Loveland. Mertz started his new position on Aug. 18.

Mertz comes to Loveland from Portland, Ore., where he spent five years as president and chief executive officer of Willamette View Inc., a continuing care campus for seniors. However, he is no stranger to the Good Samaritan Society; Mertz began his career in 1979 as an administrator intern at Good Samaritan Society — Davenport, in Davenport, Iowa. He also was an administrator from 1988 to 1997 at a center in Boulder that once was part of the Good Samaritan Society. 

The Good Samaritan Society has seven campuses in Colorado, as well as Colorado Home Care based in Longmont. Loveland Village is home to almost 400 residents. The campus offers apartments and twin homes with services, as well as long-term care, rehabilitation care, assisted living and secured memory care.
