The Vistas is the first retirement community in Longmont to offer residents continuous care, says Executive Director Ginny Walker. The 124-unit facility at the intersection of Hover Road and Ninth Avenue provides three levels of service ranging from independent living to assisted living and memory care.

Since opening in July, several of the independent living apartments have become home for residents who receive their meals in the club dining room and benefit from weekly housekeeping services and activities provided them. Floor plans in the independent living section of The Vistas include two-bedroom, two-bath units as well as those with one bedroom. All of the apartments in this section of The Vistas have full kitchens and washer and dryers.

The assisted living and memory care areas of the community are scheduled to open in mid-November with services including daily meals and activities, laundry and housekeeping and a professional staff to provide assistance for residents.

In the memory care area of The Vistas, seniors with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia receive supportive services from staff, which include a nurse manager and care manager. Activities for residents in memory care include art, music and crafts, exercise and nature walks, visits with pets, off-site excursions and memory-enhancing stimulation.

Amenities at The Vistas include a large fitness room in which exercise classes are offered, two libraries with computers, a theater, chapel, ice cream parlor and bistro. A great room with a bar and fireplace on the first floor of the facility creates another space for residents to socialize. The Vistas staff also provides scheduled transportation for residents.

A locally owned and operated facility, The Vistas offers month-to-month rentals and the opportunity for people to move to another level of care if needed.
