Aims measure a go/no-go for Berthoud
By Jamie Folsom Berthoud Recorder In an odd face-off of votes, current Aims Community College taxing district residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of adding Berthoud to the district Tuesday. Weld election results show 81 percent in favor of Aims Question 4A, and Larimer County shows all three votes cast for the measure. However, on the other end of the proposal is Berthoud's equally overwhelming defeat of the measure with 78 percent voting against Town of Berthoud 2A. ... Full Story

Obituary: Marion Elizabeth (Brehmer) Andersen
Marion Anderson passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2009 at Hospice Care Center of Boulder/Broomfield County in Louisville after a short illness. She was born May 24, 1936 to John and Rosie Brehmer in Bancroft, Neb., the fifth child born to the family, which grew by three more children over the next several years. Anderson was very active in school growing up, being a cheerleader and homecoming queen and graduating from Bancroft High School. She married Robert Eugene Andersen on Nov. ... Full Story

Pros, cons of Aims district weighed at forum
By Sandy Barnes Berthoud Recorder Residents who came to the Citizens First forum on the Aims Community College tax district on Oct. 22 expressed their varying views while hearing pros and cons from speakers. Some agreed with State Sen. Kevin Lundberg who questioned the benefit of paying an additional tax to be in the district. “I don’t see that it’s in the best interest for the people of Berthoud,” Lundberg said.
