Jay Harrison filed paperwork Monday in a bid to become the next Larimer County Sheriff. “We have excellent personnel, but we are in critical need of independent leadership. That’s why I’m running for sheriff,” Harrison said.
Harrison is a professional law enforcement officer with 25 years experience. He took on the challenges of a floundering K-9 program and helped build it into the best K-9 program in the region.
Harrison grew up in Northern Colorado and comes from a family with a history of service to county and community.
“The sheriff’s department needs to return to its original mission of serving and being accountable to the people of Larimer County,” he said.
