The Lady Spartans have nothing to be ashamed of in Tuesdays loss to one of the top teams in the league. With four 6 footers and a deep bench the Broomfield Eagles play a tough brand of ball. The Berthoud team certainly played hard and it was a defensive match with each side having a lot of turnovers. The taller Broomfield team had the advantage under the basket but the locals played a scrappy game and came up with a good number of rebounds too. The Eagles were held to their lowest score since their loss to Fairview last month. Coach Earl said he was happy with the way his team stepped up and played defense, “but we need to correct some errors on offense .” It is interesting to note that Broomfield lost to Fairview 30-48 and Berthoud also played Fairfield and made it a much closer game, losing 29-35.
