County’s Senior Tax Work-Off Program Underway

Larimer County’s Senior Citizens’ Property Tax Work-Off Program is underway. To participate, seniors must apply between the hours listed for the upcoming information/application sessions.

Established in 1981, the tax work-off program is a method for senior citizens to work off a portion of their property tax. The program was developed because over the years many seniors on fixed incomes found it challenging to afford the higher property taxes that rising housing costs incur.

Senior citizens can work off up to $400.00 of their Larimer County property tax by applying at one of several upcoming information and application sessions. Applications will be taken by appointment only. The Board of County Commissioners increased the budget to this program for 2010 making more funding available.
