This year the Berthoud High School Bridge-Between Show choir will continue its six-year tradition and provide singing Valentines in Berthoud and surrounding communities. For a very affordable $25, a quartet of talented and well-dressed singers will find your designated recipient (spouse, friend, boss, secretary, child, parent) at home, or school, or work and present them with a serenade and a sweet sac of treats.
“I like it best when we get to find someone at work and sing to them with everyone else around.” says one show choir member, “It kind of embarrasses them – in a good sort of way. It’s fun!”
In addition to the purchased valentines (the proceeds of which will be used to fund the group’s competition trip to Florida in March) the quartets visit community leaders and nursing homes to share their talents in service.
“This is my favorite type of fund-raiser,” said Marian Pond, parent of choir member Matthew Pond. “The kids are able to use their unique talents and skill to help provide the means to attend their own competition. And I really like taking them to the nursing homes where they perform for free – that’s just good for everyone!”
Mrs. Pond is serving as this year’s contact person. If you would like to send a singing valentine contact her at (303) 651-2607
