A municipal citation was issued in the case of an assault at Berthoud High School. The incident involved two girls, one of whom required medical attention and was transported to McKee Medical Center.

Tuesday, Feb. 2
A Wifi box was found at the corner of Third Street and Welch Avenue.
Police investigated a report of fraud in the 300 block of Columbine Circle.
A juvenile causing a problem at Hays Market was given a verbal warning.
The problem is listed as “threats,” the place is Berthoud High School.
There was also a 911 hang-up call from Berthoud High School and the officer issued a parking summons at the school.

Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Second Street and Bunyan Avenue just before 8 a.m.
Two juvenile males were apprehended by Turner Middle School staff while smoking marijuana in the school gym locker room. One of the boys received a summons for possession of less than one ounce of cannabis, the other for possession of less than one ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two juvenile females got in a fight at Berthoud High School. Both had minor injuries and both were charged into municipal court for disorderly conduct.
The animal problem on Mayo Court warranted a written warning while the one on First Street earned a summons.
Whatever was causing the report of suspicious circumstances in progress in the 500 block of Driftwood Place was gone when police arrived.

Police investigated a fight that occurred in the west parking lot at Berthoud High School the previous day. The altercation took place between several students and a former student. Two students and one non-student received municipal summons.
A backpack left on the basketball court at Ivy Stockwell Elementary was gone when the party returned for it.
A summons was issued to a barking Shih Tzu in the 700 block of Welch Avenue.

A case of criminal trespass at the Derby Grill at 1:49 a. m. was handled by the officer.
A case of domestic violence occurred in a vehicle traveling in Larimer County. Police stopped the vehicle in Weld County and arrested the male driver.

An early morning burglar alarm at Grandpa’s café turned out to be a false alarm.

There were three animal calls during the reporting period. The addresses were 924 Seventh Street and two calls to 620 Eighth Street.
Suspicious Circumstances in progress at Pizza Hut at 7:39 p. m. was handled by the officer.
Police found the residence quiet when they responded to a report of a verbal disturbance in the 200 block of E. Colorado Avenue.
Wednesday, Feb. 10
Police responded to the report of careless driving at Ivy Stockwell Elementary School, but the careless driver was gone before they arrived.
Despite arriving within a minute and half, the reported drug users were gone.
Police were unable to locate the cause of suspicious circumstances in progress in the 700 block of Franklin Avenue.

The officer on duty went on a foot patrol at the Colorado Rapid Car Wash at 12:30 a.m.
Just before 5 a.m. the officer found an open door at the Berthoud Wine and Spirits.
The police investigated cold suspicious circumstances at the Colorado Rapid Car Wash.
Police issued a verbal warning to a juvenile in Fickel Park.
The suspicious circumstance in progress at Hays Market at 1:43 p.m. was handled by the officer.
A trespass in progress at Berthoud Elementary School was handled by the officer.

A physical disturbance in the 800 block of Tenth Street was handled by the officer.
It was quiet in the 500 block of Fourth Street when the officer arrived in response to a noise complaint. However, the police made a return call at 11:42 p.m. and gave the residents a verbal warning.
Monday, Feb. 15
Police responded to a theft in progress at Hays Market at 11:17 a.m. Police arrested Mark Shane Martin for shoplifting and harassment and booked him into the Larimer County Detention Center.
Police investigated a cold case of a suspicious circumstance in the 600 block of Bristlecone Court. A report is to follow.

Wednesday, Feb. 17
A cold case of a disturbance in the 500 block of Fourth Street was handled by the officer at 4:43 a.m.
Police stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the 500 block of Third Street. The driver was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A juvenile was issued a verbal warning at Hays Market.
A verbal disturbance in the 800 block of Tenth Street was handled by the officer.
Police responded to a reported road rage in progress at Highway 287 and County Road 17. The suspect vehicle was stopped at Derby Hill Drive and South Garfield Avenue and the driver was issued a summons for reckless driving.

Officers made four trips to Adams Bank and Trust. The first, at 8:51 a.m. was in response to a traffic situation that could not be located, at 11:15 a.m. to investigate “cold” suspicious circumstances and two follow-ups later in the day.
Police made six traffic stops and issued two summons, two written warnings and two verbal warnings.

The officer was called to handle a restraining order violation in the 500 block of Fourth Street.
A vehicle on Munson Court was entered overnight and items were taken. The case is listed as criminal mischief.
A loose dog was found in the 200 block of East Iowa and was returned to the owner.
There was an attempted use of a counterfeit $20 bill at Log Cabin Liquor.
Police were unable to find a solicitor selling meat door to door in the Tenth Street and Lake Avenue area.
There were several motor vehicle accidents (MVA) during the evening.

Sunday, Feb. 21
A barking dog in the 700 block of Sage Place received a verbal warning at 6:25 a.m.
At 2 p.m., Officer Hayes had to deal with two loose dogs in the 200 block of Second Street. The Saint Bernard was acting aggressively so she requested backup from the Larimer County Humane Society. The dogs were caged and taken the Humane Society Facility. A summons was issued.
Monday, Feb. 22
A non-injury MVA at Bunyan Avenue and First Street was handled by the officer.
Police responded to a code enforcement complaint in the 300 block of South Eighth Street, but the offender was gone when they arrived.
The code enforcement call in the 900 block of Welch Avenue resulted in a written warning to the resident.
Police made a welfare check on North County Road 17. A juvenile runaway was picked up at County Road 17 and Bunyan Avenue and returned home.

Tuesday, Feb. 23
Police investigated “cold” suspicious circumstances on East Highway 56 just before 3 a.m.
A motor vehicle accident at West County Road 6 and South Highway 287 was handled by the sheriff’s department.
The barking dog in the 900 block of Seventh Street was quiet when police arrived.
Police were unable to locate either of the vehicles in a “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) for complaint. Another BOLO call just before midnight was cancelled by the complainant.
A missing person with Alzheimer’s was reported. The person was found safe by relatives.
Wednesday, Feb. 24
A case of harassment in the 100 block of East Iowa Avenue was handled by the officer.
The officer handled an incident involving drugs in the 900 block of Fifth Street.
Police received a missing person report from the 1200 block of Cedar Drive.
An officer went to the Berthoud Living Center to make a welfare check.
Police responded to an animal complaint in the 200 block of Welch Avenue at 11:44 p.m., however, all was quite when they arrived.

Thursday, Feb. 25
A complaint about noise at the Berthoud Gun Club at 6:50 a.m. was cancelled by the supervisor. The shooting was two police officers qualifying with new weapons.
A written warning was issued for a code violation at 121 East Iowa Ave.
The animal of complaint at Tenth Street and Mountain Avenue was somewhere else when police arrived.
Six traffic stops during the day resulted in two summons, one written warning, two verbal warnings and one report to follow.
Police stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Welch Avenue. The driver was found to be under the influence of marijuana.

A large plastic box containing various utility locating devices was found at the side of the road in the 1000 block of County Road 17.

Saturday, Feb. 27
Police stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of Welch Avenue. A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana packaged for distribution. The subject was arrested.
The burglar alarm at Guaranty Bank at 8:20 a.m. was handled by the officer on duty.
The folks at John Dough’s Pizza did not fall for the scheme when a “customer” called in an order for 40 pizzas ($1,000). They called the police instead to report a case of attempted fraud.
Six traffic stops were made. One summons was issued and one driver arrested.

The officer on patrol found an open door at the Berthoud Community Library during his 3 a.m. rounds.
Police received a third hand report of a juvenile yelling obscenities and throwing snowballs at vehicles in the 100 block of East Michigan Avenue.
