Both major political parties held their precinct caucuses on Tuesday evening. The local Democrats living in precincts 418 to 424, met at Berthoud Elementary School. While the turnout did not match the 2008 crowds, local party representative Tim Kubik was quite pleased that 64 registered Dems showed up. Jeff Hindman, chair for precinct 421, said he acquired his post by default when he was the only person to show up four years ago. This year, twenty registered voters turned out from Berthoud Old Town.
Kubik explained that the only issue before the caucus on this evening was the US Senate race between Michael Bennet and Andrew Romanoff.
With that in mind, each precinct chair followed the guidebook and led their groups in selecting delegates to the county assembly on March 27. Precinct 421 elected eleven delegates for Bennet and nine for Romanoff .The total for all precincts was 37 for Bennet, 26 for Romanoff and one undeclared.

This was not the case in our Douglas county precinct. We voted 5-0 for Andrew Romanoff. Among the other precincts at our location, it was much the same. Andrew all the way!
