Gene Kiehn (December 1, 1935 - April 26, 2010) Gene Kiehn, 74, of Berthoud died April 26 at the Berthoud Living Center. Gene was born to Fred and Lottie Kiehn on December, 1, 1935 at their farm home east of Berthoud. He was student at Whipple School during his grade school years and considered it a privilege to have attended a rural school where all the farm kids knew each other. Women of the Berthoud First Presbyterian Church are selling plants to raise funds for an orphanage in Peru. Edna Korth is the green thumb behind this project. Edna said, “I just can’t keep my hands from digging.” This is the second time that Korth has grown plants to sell for the church’s mission.
