With water storage at record levels and a high spring runoff, even Foster and Coleman Reservoirs west of Berthoud have abundant water for the first time in years. These iternerant pelicans took advantage of that and stopped for a little fishing at Foster last Wednesday.

Fran Robison returned to the McCarty-Fickle House on Thursday to put the Ladies of Loveland in their summer attire. She had most of the ladies dressed by the time the guests arrived in the evening, but had saved three of the dolls for the program. She began with Albina Washburn. She explained that even though the ladies wore different “visiting dresses” during the summer, they still wore the same type of undergarments. Albina is dressed for the 1865 period. Bovine Tuberculosis Found in Colorado Herd

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Confirmatory tests show four cows in a Colorado dairy herd have tested positive for bovine tuberculosis (TB). The ongoing investigation by the Colorado Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of Agriculture began in March 2010 when internal lesions were discovered on a Southern Colorado cow at a slaughter facility. By Claudia Todd-Young When she was recently asked why she chose this particular time to retire from her 45-year long position as choir director at the First Presbyterian Church in Berthoud, Beth Sommers said, “Why now? I figured that God would let me know when it was time to quit. Now is the time,” Sommers said. Her tenure of 45 years has allowed Sommers to see church history in the making.
