Joye D. Freddy, widow of Dan Freddy and a former Berthoud resident, passed away in Loveland on May 15, 2010. Cremation was conducted. The family now invite family and friends for the graveside service which will be held in the Berthoud Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at 10:00am.
Doris McKanna Houchin, 90, of Las Vegas, passed away May 14, 2010, at Prestige Assisted Living in Henderson. Doris was born in Berthoud, Colo., Dec. 19, 1919, to the late Linn E. and Rhoda McKanna. Doris was a welder at Rocky Mountain National Arsenal during World War II. She retired from the City of North Las Vegas in 1980, as payroll clerk and was a member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Sunrise Mountain United Methodist Church, in Las Vegas. The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment reports that another case of meningococcal disease in a Fort Collins area resident has been confirmed. The affected individual is also associated with the two hockey teams in Division C of the adult league that played at EPIC (Edora Pool and Ice Center) on June 9 at 7:15 PM.
