The Berthoud 11 and under baseball team finished their regular season strong by beating the Lafayette Warriors (12-9) on the Warriors home turf. The Lafayette team had only lost three games all season.

Coach Dave Overholt said, “We carried that momentum into the year end league tournament going 1 and 1 the first day.  That win against the Sliders required scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to win 15-14. We continued the roll with beating Fort Morgan (10-3) in the semi-finals, which put us in the championship game.

“This is only the 2nd year this core team has been playing together,” he added.
