As of August 1, the Berthoud Community Library District is no longer charging overdue fines on books; fines are still charged on overdue DVDs, audiobooks, and music CDs.
District residents pay property taxes to support the library, and the Library District Board of Trustees believes in keeping any other fines and fees to a minimum.
Now, when you have a book, or other library material, overdue 2 weeks or more your library card will be stopped until materials are returned. When the material is returned, you can use your card again. You will only pay fines on DVDs and audiobooks.
In the current economy, this is one small way that the library district can help out the community.
