Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for August 2010 Sunday, August 1 BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at Hays Market on Mountain Ave. A vehicle had hit part of the structure but no damage was done to the building. The driver was transported. Tuesday, August 3, BFPD assisted with a medical call on North 83rd Street for a patient having breathing difficulties due to a fall earlier that morning. The Berthoud Spartans dominated their season opener against The Valley Vikings 8-0. Berthoud controlled the game from the beginning, denying the Vikings from having scoring opportunities. Most of the action was in the Viking end of the field the entire first half. The Spartans were able to control most inbounds, including Viking possessions. Lady Spartans win again

The Spartan softball team defeated Skyline 11-1 at Skyline this evening. Morgan Thonhoff pitched five innings giving up 3 hits and walking 2 as Berthoud pounded out 12 hits. As in last game, the Spartans started the contest with 4 runs in the opening inning. The Falcons lone score came in the third inning.
