Spartans Drop State Title Game to Finish Second By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud Spartans softball team capped off a stellar season with a second-place finish in the 3A state tournament held on Friday and Saturday at the Aurora Sports Complex. The Spartans rolled through the first two rounds of the state tourney on Friday by a combined a score of 31-0.
