Explanation: What’s visible in the night sky during this time of year? To help illustrate the answer, a beautiful land, cloud, and skyscape was captured earlier this month over Neuchâtel [4]Switzerland [5]. Visible in the foreground were the snow covered cliffs of the amphitheater shaped Creux du Van [6], as well as distant trees, and town-lit clouds. Visible in the night sky (at midnight) were galaxies including the long arch [7] of the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy [8], the Andromeda galaxy [9] (M31), and the Triangulum [10] galaxy (M33 [11]). Star clusters visible included NGC 752, M34 [12]M35 [13]M41 [14], the double cluster [15], and the Beehive (M44 [16]). Nebulas visible included the Orion Nebula (M42 [17]), NGC 7822 [18]IC 1396 [19], the Rosette Nebula [20], the Flaming Star Nebula [21], the California Nebula [22], the Heart [23] and Soul Nebulas [24], and the Pacman Nebula [25].
