Find the rather fat waning crescent moon in the south to southeastern sky. Then look for the nearby reddish star. Freida Marguerite Welch died February 19, 2011 at Berthoud Living Center, Berthoud, Colorado. She was born August 18, 1918 in Proctor, Missouri, the daughter of James Irvin and Hattie Gerlt Thomas. The family moved to Midwest Wyoming in 1936 where she graduated from high school. She married Clyde Wesley Welch on August 21, 1937 in Casper, Wyoming. Berthoud Girls Basketball Tops Brush By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer Thanks to a 13-6 regular season and fourth place finish in the 3A Patriot League, the Berthoud High girls basketball team enjoyed a bye in the opening round of the district tournament. There was no rust for the Lady Spartans however as they topped the Brush Beetdiggers in a thrilling 47-44 victory in the BHS gym on Tuesday evening.
