  Janice W. Ellis, 93 of Berthoud, died on August 22, 2011 at The Bridge Assisted Living Center in Longmont where she had spent her last five years surround by a loving, caring staff that she considered as her adopted granddaughters. She was born on July 5, 1918 in Utica, Illinois to Rudolph and Ada M. Worsley. She married Jack Ellis on March 12, 1950 in Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1998. She is survived by Clarence, her husband of 67 years; son Michael Dean of Longmont; daughters Candace Kay Davis (C.L.) of Holcomb, Kansas, Cynthia LaRee Gaiser (Jeff) of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Julie Ann Hoekstra (Scott) of Westminster. Gene Ellis went to the arms of his Lord August 4, 2011. He was born in Smith Center, Kan. to Lawrence E. and Thelma Pauline (Rupert) Ellis on September 18, 1938. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 and served for 8 years as a sentry dog handler in the air police earning the rank of Airman First Class before he was honorably discharged in 1963. I wish I could feel he represents my interests and concerns, but my sense when I contact him is that while his office may listen politely, what I say does not weigh at all in his voting decisions.
