To the Editor,

On behalf of the Berthoud Community Library District staff, I would like to thank the Friends of the Berthoud Community Library for all the financial support they give the Library. So far this year the group has given the Library $1845.00. This money funded the summer reading program for teens, supplemented our DVD budget, and paid for staff continuing education.

The District’s income from property tax went down by 10% in 2012, so the financial support from the Friends is crucial. The Friends raise money through the sale of used books; the sale shelves are in the lobby and the selection is constantly changing.

Another important source of funds is annual memberships. It only costs $5.00 to become a Friend of the Berthoud Community Library. Thank you to everyone who is a Friends member.
