Three People Hospitalized After Shooting At Lone Star College

At least three people have been shot at Lone Star College’s North Harris campus, just outside Houston, Texas.
According to Lone Star College’s Twitter [2] account, the shooting occurred between two individuals around 12:31 CST. The “danger has been mitigated,” and the situation is “under control.” According to local television network KTRK, two victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and were taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where they remain in “relatively serious condition.” One other victim was brought to Memorial Hermann Hospital; his condition is unknown.
One person has been taken into custody, and law enforcement officials are reportedly searching the campus for another suspect. As of writing, the school remains in lockdown. The type of weapon used is not yet known, and there is no indication that the shooter planned a mass shooting. …

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Officials have identified one of the five people found shot to death in a New Mexico home as a Fire Department chaplain who also worked with jail inmates.
Albuquerque Fire Chief James Breen says Greg Griego’s calming spirit and gentle nature will be greatly missed.
Metropolitan Detention Center Chief Ramon Rustin says Griego volunteered at the jail for 13 years and was instrumental in the creation of its chaplain program.

2 hurt in high school shooting in Taft, California
TAFT, Calif. – Officials have said that at least two people were shot at a high school in Taft, California Thursday morning.
Scripps sister station 23ABC News in Bakersfield, Calif. reports [5] that a student and a teacher were shot around 9 a.m. at Taft Union High School.
The shooting took place in the science building at the school.
The student who was shot was flown to a hospital in Bakersfield, said Ray Pruitt, spokesman for the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. There was no immediate word on the victim’s condition.
“We have a suspect in custody,” Pruitt said, adding that the person was believed to be a student.
Pruitt said he believes the student used a shotgun in the attack and that weapon has been recovered.
GOP Whip Kevin McCarthy commented on the tragedy.
“I am deeply saddened and troubled by news of the shooting,” McCarthy said. “Judy and I offer our prayers to the victims, their families and the entire Taft community.”
23ABC News received phone calls from people inside the school who were hiding in closets.
