Phillip Hart, Jr. January 9, 1918 ~ September 23, 2013 Phillip Hart, Jr. died September 23, 2013 at the age of 95. Phillip was born January 9, 1918 in Berthoud, Colorado to Phillip and Katrina (Burback) Hart. He was baptized and confirmed in the German Congregational Church of Berthoud. Phillip grew up on a farm and worked for an implement dealer before being drafted into the Army in 1942. He was in the first amphibious Engineering Commando that was formed. Loveland Public Library closes to observe memorial for

  The Loveland Public Library will close from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 27, to allow employees to attend a Celebration of Life for their friend and colleague Patty Goodwine, a victim of Big Thompson Canyon flooding. Goodwine, the Executive Administrative Assistant at the library for more than 34 years, was swept away by floodwaters that took her Cedar Cove home in Big Thompson Canyon between Loveland and Drake in the early hours of Sept. 13.   Change in items requested and hours of operation at Donation Center Thanks to the generosity of many in our community, the City’s Donation Center is now chock-full of useful household items, furniture and dry goods that are being disseminated to area flood survivors. Beginning Monday, September 30th, residents who want to donate are asked to make a monetary donation rather than bringing in dry goods and furniture, etc. Potable water will also continue to be accepted.
