The Loveland Public Library will close from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 27, to allow employees to attend a Celebration of Life for their friend and colleague Patty Goodwine, a victim of Big Thompson Canyon flooding.
Goodwine, the Executive Administrative Assistant at the library for more than 34 years, was swept away by floodwaters that took her Cedar Cove home in Big Thompson Canyon between Loveland and Drake in the early hours of Sept. 13.
Her memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, 2000 N. Lincoln Ave.
Denver Post reporter Kristen Browning-Blas wrote about Patty’s life and death in Tuesday’s edition, drawing from interviews with her daughter and sister. It can be read here:http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_24160091/colorado-flood-victim-patty-goodwine-loved-her-cedar
