The Northern Colorado Astronomical Society will host an evening under the stars Friday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Fossil Creek Regional Open Space, located just west of the Interstate 25 Windsor exit.
Enjoy views of the constellations, bright satellites and meteors. Bring binoculars for tips on sky targets. Visitors can try several types of telescopes and get close-up views of the Moon’s craters, mountains and basins.
The event may be canceled due to cloudy skies or high winds. Dress for 15-20 degrees colder than the evening temperature and bring along a folding chair or pad for the ground. Dogs are not permitted at the site. Free and open to the public. Approximately 3-hour program. Check www.NCAstro.org for event status and visible planets. Please contact Rob Novak at 970-679-4561 for more information or questions.
