Incident Activity for March

Monday, March 1

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 17 and US Highway 287. There was heavy damage to both vehicles.  One person was injured and transported.

 

Tuesday, March 2

BFPD responded to a reported gas leak on First Street. The business owner had cut a line while drilling a hole with his tractor. Excel responded and the crew stayed at the scene until the line was clamped pending further repair.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Second Street. This was a false alarm.


Wednesday, March 3

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Fourth Street for a sick person. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a childbirth on Megan Way. The fire crew assisted with transporting the mother and infant to the hospital.


Thursday, March 4

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a person having breathing problems. The patient was transported.


Saturday, March 6

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Turner Avenue.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on West County Road 12 for chest pains. The patient was transported.


Sunday, March 7

BFPD responded to the area of Getaway Drive and John Galt Drive for a reported smoke concern. This was a contained controlled burn.

BFPD assisted with a citizen request for assistance on Fourth Street.


Monday, March 8,

BFPD responded to a power line down on Shelby Drive. Poudre REA was notified and the fire crew stayed on scene until their arrival.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident near County Road 6 and Highway 287. There was heavy damage to the vehicle and one patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported medical call on Dove Lane.

BFPD responded to a residence on Ninth Street for a fire that had started in the oven. The fire had been extinguished by the time the fire crew arrived.


Wednesday, March 10

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Indiana Avenue for a person with a broken ankle.

BFPD responded to a report of a gas odor on Martingale Drive. The crew was unable to detect evidence of gas in the residence.


Thursday, March 11

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at Turner Middle School. The school was evacuated and after investigation, it was determined to be accidental alarm activation.


Friday, March 12

BFPD responded to Blue Mountain Avenue for a medical call. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to the Valley Dirt Rider track for a medical call for an injured rider. The patient was transported.


Saturday, March 13

BFPD assisted a citizen on Second Street who needed help after a fall.

BFPD responded to a structure fire on Cynthia Court in Loveland. The fire crew assisted Loveland Fire with extinguishing the blaze.


Sunday, March 14

BFPD assisted with a medical call on County Road 4 for a patient experiencing chest pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Kansas Ave. for a patient who had a seizure. The patient was transported.


Monday, March 15

BFPD assisted with a medical call on West County Road 2 for a sick person. The patient was transported.


Tuesday, March 16

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Weld County Road 3 for a person who had fallen. The patient was transported.


Thursday, March 18

BFPD responded to a grass fire in Loveland. The Berthoud fire crew assisted Loveland Fire with extinguishing the fire and then with clean-up.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on West County Road 4, the fire expanded into a large hollow cottonwood tree. The fire was extinguished and the homeowner was advised to have the remainder of the tree removed to reduce chance of further problems.


Friday, March 19

BFPD responded to a two vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. There was moderate to heavy damage to both vehicles. One patient was transported.


Saturday, March 20

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center.

BFPD assisted with transporting a patient from East State Highway 56.


Sunday, March 21

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for an unconscious patient. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at Berthoud Living Center for a sick patient. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 involving six vehicles. There were no injuries.


Monday, March 22

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 250. This was a single vehicle accident with minor damage to the vehicle and there were no injuries.


Tuesday, March 23

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 and County Road 8 involving two cars. There were no injuries.


Wednesday, March 24

BFPD responded to a report of a power line down at a residence on Fourth Street. A large tree limb had fallen on the line. Xcel was notified and responded to the scene.

BFPD responded to Sixth Street and Mountain Avenue, the area of Fifth Street and Capitol Avenue, and Fourth Street and Welch Avenue for downed power lines due to large broken tree branches. Due to the high volume of calls for Excel, the streets were barricaded until Excel could respond.


Friday, March 26

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide detector in an unoccupied recreational vehicle. It was recommended that the owner replace the faulty detector.


Saturday, March 27

BFPD responded to a medical call for cardiac arrest on Third Street. The patient was deceased upon arrival.


Sunday, March 28

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a patient who had fallen. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on North County Road 17. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported.


Monday, March 29

BFPD responded to a medical call with TVEMS and Berthoud Police on Third Street and Mountain Avenue.


Tuesday, March 30

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Sixth Street.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Interstate 25 at the mile marker 249 area. The fire was a controlled burn off of Weld County Road 36 and was under control.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. A single car had hit a light pole while traveling southbound. Two patients were injured and transported.


Wednesday, March 31

BFPD responded to a medical call for abdominal pain on Windom Peak Lane. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for an elderly patient on First Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 287 and Highway 56. This was a two vehicle accident with heavy damage to both vehicles.  Two patients were transported with full trauma team activation.
