Sunday, August 1

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at Hays Market on Mountain Ave. A vehicle had hit part of the structure but no damage was done to the building. The driver was transported.

Tuesday, August 3,

BFPD assisted with a medical call on North 83rd Street for a patient having breathing difficulties due to a fall earlier that morning. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident on County Road 8. The patient was unresponsive but breathing and was transported.

Friday, August 6,

BFPD responded to Cedar Drive for a medical call for heart problems. The fire crew assisted Thompson Valley Emergency Medical Services (TVEMS) with transporting the patient.

Sunday, August 8,

BFPD responded to a medical call on Megan Way. The patient was not transported.

Monday, August 9

BFPD responded to a small grass fire slowly burning on a steep slope next to the Saint Vrain water canal near Bennett Road. The fire was extinguished while still less than one acre.

Tuesday, August 10

BFPD responded to a gas leak on E. Highway 60. A four foot pipe had been cut by an earth mover. Excel Energy was already on scene.  The fire crew stayed on scene monitoring until Excel was able to clamp the line.

BFPD responded with Berthoud Police Department to a medical call on County Road 10E. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted Loveland Fire with a structure fire on Poplar Street in Loveland.

Wednesday, August 11

BFPD responded to a grass fire on Third Street near Keep Circle. A 50 foot by 10 foot grass fire was slowly moving towards a grove of trees.  The fire was extinguished and the cause of ignition is under investigation.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on North County Road 17 and Highway 287. There was moderate damage to both vehicles and two injured patients. One patient was transported.

BFPD responded to Keep Circle for a few hot spots from the earlier fire burning along the railroad tracks.  The crew extinguished a few smoldering logs in the area.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for chest pain for a walk in patient at Station #1. The patient was transported emergent for cardiac alert.

Thursday, August 12

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Weld County Road 7 for a patient who had fallen and was complaining of hip pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near the Valley Dirt Rider Track near Interstate 25.  This was an unauthorized burn and the crew extinguished the fire.  The responsible party was informed how to obtain a burn permit.

BFPD responded to Loveland to cover Station 3 while Loveland was responding to a structure fire.

BFPD assisted with a medical call in Loveland on Kathryn Drive.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249.  The driver was injured and transported.

Friday, August 13

BFPD assisted a citizen on Indiana Avenue with activated smoke detectors. There were no signs of fire, so the batteries were replaced and the detectors were reset.

BFPD responded to a small grass fire on County Road 21 and County Road 8.  The fire was quickly extinguished and it was determined to have started from a wheel that came detached from a boat trailer.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a diabetic patient in a vehicle on Yellowstone Road. The patient care was transferred to TVEMS when they arrived. The patient was eventually released to the family for further evaluation.

Saturday, August 14

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a patient having an allergic reaction. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted Berthoud Police Department and TVEMS with a medical patient. The patient was transported.

BFPD investigated a report of smoke in the area of Second Street and Welch Avenue. The crew was unable to locate any fire.

Sunday, August 15

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Iowa Avenue. The patient was transported.

Monday, August 16

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Lela Court. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm on East Highway 56. This alarm was activated by burned food.

BFPD responded to a reported traumatic injury on County Road 31 in the Knolls Campground Area at Carter Lake. A large army style tent was struck with high winds, collapsing and snapping a large wooden tent pole striking a man in the leg, partially amputating his leg and injuring several other people. Ambulances from Loveland responded and four patients were transported.

Tuesday, August 17

BFPD responded to Weld County Road 1 and Highway 56 for a two-car accident with moderate to heavy damage. One patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, August 18

BFPD assisted with a medical call on West County Road 8 for a patient who was experiencing extreme dizziness. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at Berthoud Park for an injured person who hit the fence while playing ball. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to the 1400 block of Alps Ranch Road north of Lon Hagler Reservoir to assist Loveland Fire at a structure fire. Firefighters found a barn engulfed in flame. The barn eventually collapsed. Firefighters pulled water from a nearby irrigation ditch and kept the fire from spreading to nearby structures. The Berthoud crew assisted for two hours and then was released from the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical call for an ill patient in a vehicle on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 250. The patient was transported.

Thursday, August 19

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Indiana Avenue for a patient having back pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on North Fourth Street. The patient was transported.

Friday, August 20

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident with moderate to heavy damage to both vehicles. One patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Turner Avenue for a sick person. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a smoke odor on County Road 23 and Meining Road. This was a controlled barbeque pit in use.

Saturday, August 21

BFPD responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 25 and Highway 60. Upon arrival to the scene, the flames had been extinguished leaving only smoke coming from the engine compartment.

Sunday, August 22

BFPD responded to a medical call on Capitol Avenue. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted a citizen on East Colorado Avenue with smoke alarm detectors in their residence.

Monday, August 23

BFPD responded to a medical call on Singing Waters Court for a patient who was injured while riding a horse. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Bothun Road. A person fell down a flight of stairs injuring their head and arm. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, August 25

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Mount Massive Avenue.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Bristlecone Court for chest pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a person having breathing difficulties. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on First Street for a sick person. The patient was transported.

Friday, August 27

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 14 and South Taft in Loveland.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on 10th and Welch.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Sixth Street. The patient was transported.

Saturday, August 28

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person who fell off a bike injuring their head, arm and ankle. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, August 31

BFPD assisted a citizen on Indiana Avenue. for an activated smoke detector. This was found to be a faulty detector needing replacement.

BFPD responded to a small grass fire moving slowly along a fence line near the north end of the Berthoud High School property line. Also involved in the fire were several hay bales that were along the fence. The fire was extinguished.

BFPD responded to a reported gas odor in a residence on Sioux Drive. The air monitor was unable to detect any evidence of gas or carbon monoxide.
