Incident Summary for November 2010

 

Monday, November 1

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Fourth Street for a person having seizures. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Sioux Drive for a patient who had fallen. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Tuesday, November 2

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for breathing problems on Welch Ave. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a patient on Sioux Drive who had fallen. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Cedar Drive for a patient having breathing difficulties. The crew assisted with transporting the patient.

Wednesday, November 3

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a walk-in patient at Station 1. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for breathing problems on First Street. The patient was transported.

Thursday, November 4

BFPD responded to a medical call for chest pains on Douglas Street. The fire crew assisted with transporting the patient.

BFPD assisted with a patient who had fallen on Sioux Drive. The patient was transported.

Friday, November 5

BFPD responded to Lakoritz Drive for a patient needing assistance. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Saturday, November 6

BFPD responded to a reported outside gas odor. Upon arrival to the area the crew found a maintenance person doing work on some propane tanks in the shop area of High Country Proco, causing the odor in the area.

Sunday, November 7

BFPD responded to a medical call on Bunyan Court. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Monday, November 8

BFPD responded to a structure fire on Dakota Ridge Road. Lyons Fire Department responded to the scene as well for a fully involved barn fire.  After the fire was extinguished both departments assisted with clean up and investigation.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on the east side of County Road 17 near County Road 4E.  A small grassfire was burning along the ditch.  A squirrel had knocked down a transformer causing the ignition.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Wark Avenue. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at the Berthoud Living Center. This was an accidentally triggered alarm. The crew reset the alarm for the maintenance crew.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Lacoritz Avenue.

BFPD responded to Bruce Drive for a barricaded suspect with Larimer County Sheriffs Officers and the SWAT team on scene. The patient sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported emergent.  The fire crew remained on scene through the entire incident.

Tuesday, November 9

BFPD responded to a medical call on Bunyan Avenue. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, November 10

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 250. A vehicle had sustained a blown tire. There was no damage to the vehicle or any reported injuries.

Thursday, November 11

BFPD assisted with a medical call on W. County Road 4. The patient was transported.

Friday, November 12

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate @ mile marker 250. A single vehicle was moderately damaged and there were no reported injuries.

BFPD responded to Bunyan Avenue to investigate a reported fire coming from the ceiling fan in a bathroom. Upon arrival, the fire was extinguished and no other damage was found in the surrounding area.

Sunday, November 14

BFPD responded to a residence on Bimson Avenue. that was reporting an electrical burning odor coming from the meter box. The electrical meter was found to have burned from the inside electrical board causing the cover to have the smell of burning plastic.  Excel was notified to respond.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Longview Avenue. The patient was transported.

BFD responded to a medical call at the Five Stones Youth Center for a fourteen year old patient who had fallen from the climbing wall onto the floor. The patient was transported.

Monday, November 15

BFPD responded to a medical call on Snowy Range Lane for an elderly person who had fallen. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, November 16

BFPD responded to a grass fire on Dakota Ridge. Lyons Fire District had requested our assistance with a fire that had rekindled from a fire earlier in the week. Upon arrival at the scene, the fire was under control.

Thursday, November 18

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire that was out of control on Weld County Road 1. Upon arrival at the scene  the crew found that the responsible party had regained control of the fire and it was extinguished.

BFPD responded with Loveland Fire to a motor vehicle accident on Weld County Road 7 and Highway 60. This was a two-vehicle accident with heavy damage and one passenger was extricated from the vehicle and transported.

Friday, November 19

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at the Berthoud Living Center. This was a false alarm set off by work being done by maintenance.

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. One occupant was injured and transported.

Saturday, November 20

BFPD assisted two citizens on Second Street.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Seventh Street for a patient who had fallen and needed assistance getting into his wheel chair.

BFPD responded to a residential structure fire on Franklin Ave. Upon arrival to the scene there was smoke visible coming from the eaves of the structure. The crew extinguished the fire, cleaned the area and further investigated for other signs of ignition.

Sunday, November 21

BFPD responded to Wales Drive for a person having diabetic complications. The patient was transported.

BFPD was notified of a grassfire in the area west of County Road 23 and south of County Road 8. This was in the area of a bonfire earlier in the evening. The fire crew extinguished the fire.

Tuesday, November 23

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person who had fallen on Columbine Circle. The patient was treated on scene by TVEMS for a shoulder injury.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Second Street for a patient having breathing problems. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Sioux Drive. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call for an accidental overdose on a small child on Iowa Ave. The patient was cared for by TVEMS.

Wednesday, November 24

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Sixth Street. The patient was transported.

Thursday, November 25

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Sixth Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Mountain Avenue for a person having seizures.  The patient was transported.

Friday, November 26

BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire near structures on Fourth Street. Upon arriving at the scene the crew found a pick-up truck’s engine compartment fully involved with fire. The vehicle was not threatening any structures and the fire was extinguished within a few minutes. The cause of ignition was most likely mechanical in nature.

BFPD responded to a reported smoke odor in a residence on County Road 23E. After investigating, it was determined the furnace had a mechanical failure causing the odor.

Saturday, November 27

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a rollover single-vehicle accident on the frontage road of Interstate 25 @ mile marker 254. The fire crew assisted Loveland Fire who also responded to this accident.

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 254.  Johnstown Fire also responded to this accident. One patient was transported.

BFPD responded to Bristlecone Court for a resident reporting an activated carbon dioxide detector. The crew did not find any readings of CO in the home.

Monday, November 29

BFPD began to respond to a medical call at mile marker 254 on Interstate 25 but was cancelled in route because the actual location of the incident was in another District who responded.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on 855 Franklin Avenue for a patient complaining of chest pain. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, November 30

BFPD assisted with a medical call at 2029 W County Road 10 for a patient complaining of shortness of breath and chest pains. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a small grass fire with a fence and a doghouse also on fire at 20645 Weld County Road 5. Firefighters extinguished the fire and concluded that it was probably started from a controlled ditch burn the previous day.

BFPD assisted with a medical at 1603 Fourth Street for a patient complaining of chest pains. The patient was transported.
